Credit that one to Joe Walsh. He wasn't the most prolific, but he did produce some classic riffs. Turn To Stone and Rocky Mountain Way are both easily recognizable from the riffs that introduce each song.

in the eagles' documentary he said the riff from life in the fast lane was something he had always done to "warm up" .
