Since Dennis Allen took over:

Record: 3-3 (2-1 vs division)
Vs. Playoff teams: 0-2
Yards Allowed: 396.2 YPG (Would rank 30th)
Points Allowed: 26.8 PPG (Would rank 28th)
Turnovers Forced: 9
Sacks: 9
Before:
SOS: .500 (80-80)
Record: 4-6 (1-2 vs division)
Vs. Playoff team: 0-2
Yards Allowed: 424.3 YPG (Would rank 32nd)
Points Allowed: 31.5 PPG (Would rank 32nd)
Turnovers Forced: 13
Sacks: 22
Allen improved the defense, if even slightly.
Key issue is the lack of sacks/pass rush. No defense is going to be able to play better without a better DL. Regardless of the coach, you need to get stouter at DT and a 3rd down specialist.
