He's become a pretty solid defensive player and rebounder too.

I think his focusing on these parts of his game has made him relax and gain some confidence that he lost on the offensive end. We could be scary good down the stretch if he gives us something similar to what he has the last several games.

You may be the dumbest poster here.

Is Shortess your son?
Great comeback like a month later.

Since it has been so long, let me catch you up: Blakeney did not break out of his slump and had one more "meh" game after this thread was started in a loss to Florida. After that he was sent to the bench which drastically changed his game.

Once again, you're welcome!

Now why don't you bump a thread from January 2012 and tell us how you don't think we have a good gameplan for offense against Bama?

Your quote about blakeney being not a very good defender is pathetically inaccurate. He's probably the best perimeter defender on this team and has played great all year.

I agree with that.

This. I hope we aren't over-reacting to his monster offensive game, but I really think he is a big advantage to us even if he does only score 5 points. His hustle, defense, and rebounding often gets overlooked.

Yeah, I mean, I don't expect him to drop 30 every night. But he clearly has his confidence back. 10-12 pts a night plus his tough D, rebounding and intensity from here on out would be huge for us.

A month ago he wasn't. Even the posts defending him mentioned only that he had been "better for the last few games". A couple games before this thread I noted that his footwork just looked off and it was a matter of him catching up to the speed in college. The next few games will tell us a lot about how he has progressed.

He looks confused out there on offense and isn't a very good defender or rebounder. Not sure why he is playing. Like Quarterman in his freshman year he needs to ride the bench and work hard over the summer.

I would be happy to pay TQ, Hornsby, Grey, and Patterson when he is healthy. Shortess is a better option right now.

The dumb is strong in this one.

Yep, I've had a lot of those same moments. The dude is crazy athletic.

He really needs to get going. I would call him a disappointment to date so fa

Since coming off of the bench, prior to MSU, AB was shooting over 50% and had drastically improved on the defensive end. As true freshmen go, I could not label him a disappointment, even prior to MSU.

Your post comparing Shortess to Blakeney is timeless.

There's no coming back from that no matter how witty you think you are.....
