Should we change the meaning of terrorism then?

And yes those things would count as terrorism, so thanks for proving my point. They are THE SAME THING

By distinguishing terrorists from other types of criminals and terrorism from other forms of crime, we come to appreciate that terrorism is :

ineluctably political in aims and motives;
violent—or, equally important, threatens violence;
designed to have far-reaching psychological repercussions beyond the immediate victim or target;
conducted either by an organization with an identifiable chain of command or conspiratorial cell structure (whose members wear no uniform or identifying insignia) or by individuals or a small collection of individuals directly influenced, motivated, or inspired by the ideological aims or example of some existent terrorist movement and/or
its leaders; and

perpetrated by a subnational group or nonstate entity.[20]

Based on principle it is terrorism, it's that cut and dry.

If by terrorism you mean what the federal government has been doing to the Hammonds and other local ranchers in that area for quite some time. I'm with you on that.

Most definitely. Giving the gov't Carte Blanche to do what they want once something is labeled "terrorism" is a dangerous thing.

If they'd have attacked the BLM thugs like you are suggesting they do to these idiots in the woods can you imagine the headlines and the blowback? And they've done actual harm as opposed to those dudes hiding out in an abandoned ranger station.

So any peaceful assembly is terrorism?

Just leave these dudes out in the woods not bothering anyone Alone. Ignore them and they'll go away.

These dudes are more than peacefully assembling in the woods to tell stories around a campfire

Maybe so ,but they seem quite more sympathetic to armed militias threatening to kill law enforcement .

Not quite the same level of understanding for other groups who have issues with LO.

Spot on. The downvotes confirm it.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Calling the Jackson councilman an idiot and a traitor and whatever else for calling on citizens to disobey and harass cops coming into Jackson for doing their jobs, while calling these guys harmless and justified for disobeying and harassing another branch of government authority.

This is pretty stupid.

The Hammonds have stated that they don't want these guys there supporting them. They seem to just want to serve out their sentences and be done.

Hell, the older Bundy has said that he didn't really want this to happen.

This isn't a coup. They didn't shoot up place and kill people. Calling this terrorism and liking it to what we have seen on 9/11 and abroad is really ridiculous.

Fully armed does not = peaceful. So if those who work there/or LEOs try to go in, these thugs aren't going to point guns at them. They've done it before at Bundy's ranch w/ no consequences. Get rid of all the weapons and only then can these thugs be called protesters.

Patriots my arse.

They have broken into and taken over a federal building- armed and have stated if force is used to remove them they will use those weapons. Like I said, a bit more than peacefully assembling around a campfire in the woods telling scary stories.
Let another group take over a building and watch what happens. Look at some of the peaceful (not all were peaceful) assemblies in Occupy Wall Street. Remember when students sat on a sidewalk, unarmed at Cal Barkley? Remember what happened to them? BTW, the vast majority on the OT were all over those groups like rotten gravy on rice. Not so much in this case.
