Any word on how Orgeron feels about not being named defensive coordinator?

Really hope he isn't thinking about bringing his coaching and recruiting excellence elsewhere... But it wouldn't be a shock if his ego was bruised.

He doesn't want to be a DC

I don't know why people keep wanting it for him. He's happy where he's at.

He would like to be a HC at a good program but other than that he's very happy here..

Do you ever stop and think

-Hey maybe Ed didn't want the DC coordinator position?
-Hey maybe Ed was in the same room calling Dave?
-Hey maybe Ed is a compatible guy and will do what he needs to do to win?

I really hope people would learn how to use the search function and find the answers to their asinine questions instead of creating a new thread.

He has no interest in being a DC. He could have gotten a DC job long ago if he wanted one.

O is soon to get a nice pay raise and likely some type of new title. He doesn't need to be coordinator to get a shot at another head gig, that will come in time. Hell he'd have more to lose by taking the DC job.

The only people who feel O was slighted are his large legion of fan boys around here now.

I posted the Michigan situation before Aranda was known as the new DC. I thought, maybe this is what Ed O would do at LSU

At Michigan Greg Mattison graciously stepped down as DC when Harbaugh came in and they hired Durkin to coach defense. Mattison's defense was pretty damn good while he was DC so for him to take the DL position must mean that he really wanted to stay at Michigan. They paid him a boatload at 750k which is 200k more than Aranda made to be DC and LB coach at Wisky. Depending on the extra pay, Mattison's pay would be ranked anywhere from 23-25 on the list of defensive coordinators and all he coaches is the DL!

So this got me thinking, maybe that's all coach O wants to do for the time being. He can get 700-750k and be the DL coach and heavy recruiter. Doesn't have to have the responsibilities of a DC and can stay down in the trenches like he has done most of his career.
