arguable

3. Kid reaches for gun and points at officers.
nope

Say what you want about his age, but 12 years old is certainly old enough to know that when a police officer tells you to put your hands up, you do it. At the least your old enough to know NOT to point a gun (toy or real) at a police officer. It's not like he was a toddler.
Maybe 1.8 seconds elapsed in this entire portion of the incident.

Does anyone here think they just arrived on the scene and thought "Hey, I feel like shooting a child. Let's do it."?
What I think is that this a-hole was known to be dangerously incompetent and was still put out on the streets. City/county/whatever have a massive lawsuit coming and I hope they lose.

The comical part is it will be paid for through tax dollars.

Is it your contention he just felt like shooting a child, so he did?
You act like he goes hunting for children or something.
I'm not going to give an officer a pass because he's an officer nor am I going to side with the child just because it's a child.
It's an unfortunate situation that I hope none of us find ourselves in. Both having to decide whether or not lethal force is needed to defend my/our lives or having a loved one killed by law enforcement.
