I'm not saying it wasn't a bad deal, but it certainly wasn't criminal on the part of the officers. Criminal charges were declined...because they didn't do anything criminal. Nothing else.
You try doing what they did under the same pretenses and see if criminal charges are filed against you.

no he's not
Correct. I shouldn't have used the present tense...he's dead. But yes, he pulled the gun from his waistband. Read the fricking article.

There was no possible way he did not put that car too close to the kid.
I didn't say that he didn't put the car too close to the kid. I said that you guys were assuming they meant to do that. They have to know that's the guy they're looking for to "put the car too close to him" (intentional act). How do you know they didn't drive up on him, NOT REALIZING he was "the guy" (the gun was in his waistband and they were looking for someone actively pointing a gun at people) until the very last second? You do see the difference, don't you? If not, you should castrate yourself so your genetics aren't passed on.

Criminal charges wouldn't be filed against me or anyone else. Not under those circumstances. Dude walks up to me, pulls a fake gun from his waistband, and I shoot him? Not goddamn thing happens to me because I acted reasonably, given the circumstances and information I had at the time. You know hindsight isn't allowed, legally, when making the decision on whether someone's actions were reasonable, right?
