Sweet setup
How do you like the new Legacy system? I'm still using the original Cab-1/Command base combo.

I have 2 sets of Daylight passenger cars.
One is extruded aluminum, the other is the older Harriman style. Both are Lionel. They are the 4 pack, the 2 pack add on, and the STATION sounds Diner add on...for a total of 7 cars per style. I have a couple 3rd Rail combos as well.

The Legacy offers a few features that cab-1 doesn't have. It has a nicer display as well. If you go all in and really learn it thoroughly, it really allows full control of every aspect of the layout---trains, switches, lighting, accessories, programmed actions/operations, sounds...but you have to play with it for a bit to get the hang of it.

Nice layout you got. I miss mine

Thanks man...I still have a ton of work to do on it though.
I am going to attempt to wire in all the DZ-2500 switch motors and program to throw via the Legacy controller. It is more time consuming than anything else.

wow man, nice train!!!!
what boy doesn't like trains?!
I did have an HO set, too long ago to remember it under the tree or not...
[ anyone ever read Jeremiah?
? Jeremiah 10 ? King James Bible
The Sovereignty of God
1. Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2. Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. }
nobody listens or reads Scripture...we just do what everyone else does ]

The track and turnouts (switches) are all Ross. The outer sides of the rails have been painted a rust color to add a little weathered look. I have completed this weathering on about half of the layout so far.
I have some complex switches, such as a double crossover, a few 4-way yard throats, a wye, a few 3-ways, and about 5 curved turnouts.
The turn radius on the outer loop is O-128 if I remember correctly. The tightest is O-72 around the back of the roundhouse. The roundhouse was scratch built.
All the motive power is either Lionel, K-Line, or Atlas; and with the exception of the very old pre war and post war nostalgia stuff, every engine is TMCC. The ones that weren't were converted over to TMCC.
I can tear a modern engine down and do just about any repair--even the boards. I tend to send them off now, though, as I just don't have the time and patience to do the repairs myself now. I do, however, enjoy working on all the post war stuff--simple open frame Pullmor motors and E-units.
I have an arsenal of micro tools for working on trains/models.

I have an audio rig in the train room!
It adds a whole new dimension when I hear "I wish I was a headlight...on a northbound train"

Haha - now that is pretty legit I have to admit.
