He admitted that he didn't want him in the first place.
Let's not pretend that Baton Rouge exploded with joy upon the hiring of Miles.
Hell, Baton Rouge didn't explode with joy upon the hiring of Saban.
Both had records that indicated the potential for success, but anyone claiming anything beyond that is engaging in revisionist history.
Speaking for myself, I had no real opinion one way or the other when Miles was hired precisely because of the Saban hire. I recognized that while Miles' record wasn't Earth shattering that neither was Saban's prior to LSU.
Regardless, it is a gross exaggeration to say that having a preference for someone other than the Miles hire = hating him from day one.

Read their postings.
There was, and still is, this hard core of Miles haters that wanted him to fail from day one. Read how many are still crying about that 4th quarter loss to Tennessee, criticizing Mile's comment about the whereabouts of his wife, magnifying each and every coaching ever like no other coach ever maned any of these same mistakes.etc.
These people are still here, most of them posting daily. There is a small vocal minority that would gladly see LSU lose if that hastens the day of Miles' departure.
This is not conjecture. Read their comments.
eta: Check logjamming's comment on this matter.

I do not like to see LSU lose, but I've become apathetic to the game when we're losing, as I used to get really pissed off. I turned off the national championship in the early 4th 2012 quarter. I don't like to watch a coach who throws in the towel during games when they get down. Les and his team's constantly do that. He would rather stick by his shitty gameplan, than change it.

Like I said. I'm anti-Miles. Have been for a while. And yet, I still don't "want" him to fail. I would love to see LSU go undefeated next year and win it all.
I just don't expect it and actually expect Miles to lay eggs again. The latter doesn't make me happy. I'd rather be wrong.

How many of his game plans have you seen?
Would you understand one if you saw it?

I guess Texas Tech, Toledo, and Memphis are deeper than LSU and better equipped to handle injuries to a fullback and tight end.
This drives me insane. Les acts like TE is integral to our offensive philosophy ... As if we ever throw to the freaking TE. Get it over with and put out 3rd best tackle in #89. Problem solved ... Or actually improved upon.

So because i don't know how peanut butter is made, I can't know what it tastes like?
His gameplans are shittily drawn up and/or executed about 80% of the time. That's a fact, jack that's backed up by statistics.

don't equate the OOC games with lower leveled schools as wins
LSU comes in at #2 for SEC wins since 05. How do you equate that? They come in at # 3 among power 5 programs for wins in that same time period. We haven't had a regular season OOC loss in 11 yrs. Most times our SOS for all games is top 10-15 rated.
All things considered, I have to think you are simply trying ways to discredit a pretty remarkable 11 to 16 yr run, on the whole, for LSU football.
If you want to see 111-32 while playing in the SEC and playing schedules judged to be 10-15th hardest in the nation, most yrs., as a "failure"...knock yourself out. I think most reasonable, non-agenda driven college football fans would disagree.

Lonnie, it would not matter to me who the coach of LSU was, those games hold no value for ME when evaluating the Performance of the Team or how competent whoever the coach is.
The downside of those games TO ME, outweigh the upside.
1. Upside - gives the team a chance to run through plays is more sophisticated scrimmage, work out kinks, timing, etc...
2. Downside - LSU seems to have trouble getting up for games, the variation from week to week, tier 2, then SEC, then tier 2, etc... seems to work against them, they cannot maintain consistency in MY VIEW.
3. Downside - LSU seems to play down to an opponents level, whomever they are.
Bottom line these tier 2 games are Gimmees for the most part, yes there are the rare games that are OOC that are not, but for the most part because they are Gimmees I believe they affect Team Morale negatively.

See, this logic is lost on dumb mother fkers like gray. He thinks you have to be in on the planning with miles and the coaches with actual input in order to understand what theyre doing.
A simple eye test is not enough for this numb skull. He obviously cant judge things for himself and form an opinion. With him, you have to have a link or some data in order to make a simple statement. Its blind loyalty like this that makes it futile to even converse with him. All is well carry on.....right Gray?

With all the bullshite spewed on here arguments/statements either positive or negative without factual data to back them up have very little validity. That's not blind loyalty, that's sound reason. And i haven't seen anyone say that all is well, just that the program is not as bad off as the doomsday, end of the world naysayers are so vehemently decrying it to be.

sorry bud...your team is not such a sh*tshow...fans like you dont have teams ...just bulls eyes for your criticism....if it werent one thing, it would be 20 others

Lol what a narrow minded twit. Most of us would be fine with not getting shellacked 3 games a year. Most of us would be fine with not having an offense where if the fullback gets hurt than our chances of moving the ball goes down considerably. Most of us would be happy with coaches that wouldn't be so incompetent to where our team has no LB depth, no DL depth, no OL depth, no QB depth, but hey we have WR's,RB's, and DB's for days. We don't need national championships every year. I just wish MY team wasn't such a shitshow. If that's too much to ask in your opinion then you can go f*ck yourself.
Thank you.

quote:No it didnt. Sure we had some success out of the gun but it wasn't close to being being as productive as our I formation was. When we lost Moore it basically freed up an opposing lb on every play because of the huge drop off from 1st team fb to 2nd team fb.
when LSU lost JDM in the USCe game, they went to a more spread heavy approach, running out of the shotgun etc and and worked really well.
