re: If LF7 wins the Heisman next year, is the Heisman legitimate again...

The Heisman has not been legitimate for years. IT is a trophy given to the best quarterback on a winning team for years. If there is no good quarterback available, they give it to the running back on the championship favorite.
If the Heisman was ever real, why has it never been won by a lineman, linebacker, or tight end? Only one DB? give me a break.

With the advent of the playoffs, you'll rarely if ever see a winner who isn't in the playoffs.

Well said. It is a media driven popularity contest and has been for quite some time. It's not surprising Henry won this year. The media loves bama. To be fair they love LSU too and were hyping Fournette all year until the bama game and even the week after. It was LF7's to lose and he and the team lost it. A lot of it had to do with Henry and the other backs in contention having better blocking late in the season allowing them to put up better numbers in the last few games.
