Completely agree. HR is there to protect the business, not to protect you. The only time I would think about going to HR is over legit sexual harassment, but honestly leaving the company and moving on would still probably be the best option.

I was sexually harassed by my boss (a male), and I talked to an HR lawyer. he said, don't go to HR.

He said you don't have enough to sue. He said find a new boss or quit. I found a new boss.
