Don't know, but what a great name:
Walker Lee "Slip" Watkins.
Walker Lee "Slip" Watkins.

He married a former track star, Celena Mondie-Milner, who recently became Director of New Student Services at the University of Texas. I do not see anything of a split between them, so it would stand to reason Slip (a.k.a. Walker Lee Watkins) is there with her.

Wow. He married up. I believe Slip was academically ineligible throughout most of his college career. Perhaps I'm mis-remembering.

Fantastic straight speed, but many a blade of grass took him down.

I recall that he was the fastest college football player in 1987 and 1988. Archer tried him at tailback some.

Yeah. The joke in '88 was when the actual US track team was at the Olympics in Seoul, Slip was officially the fastest person here in the country.

All I know is he was a freakin' blur when he blew past me in the St. Thomas Aquinas vs. South Plantation game back in '85.

He wasn't faster than James Jett
