I fail to understand why, if there are such huge budget cuts, LSU is spending more. It obviously isn't an issue.
Less money from the state, tuition is raised to make up more than enough of that reduction from the state, enrollment actually INCREASES with the tuition increases. That is just from 2011 to 2014

Well, one would assume that most of the budget is going to salaries for employees.
That's what you would have to cut.
And they could do so, but it wouldn't be without consequence as faculty can leave and go to other schools that pay more or will give them a raise.
LSU isn't competing in a vacuum. On the football field or otherwise, we have to compete with other schools.
Cut shite enough and LSU will be back to where it was in the 80s as a school.
Here's an article on LSU salaries. It's from a couple of years ago but it shows that you have 12,192 employees making a total of $710 million.
