As a critic of Miles, he didn't deserve to be fired.

I have been one of his biggest critics. He has flaws including his stranglehold on the offense and in particular the passing game.
That being said, the guy will go down as LSU's most successful coach in school history. Saban made LSU relevant again but we became must see TV under Miles (good and bad). Firing him under these circumstances just seemed weird, forced and honestly unnecessary. I think we all believe there are better coaches out there....that doesn't mean Miles deserved to be fired. It just didn't feel right for him to go out that way. Love him or hate him, he's done far more good for LSU than bad.
Hopefully lsu wins the bowl game, we bring in the top recruiting class and Miles takes this as a wakeup call regarding offensive philosophy but this "negatiger" is glad Miles is back.

Be careful what you wish for.

We had better hope, because it has potential to go really bad. I think alot will depend on what (if any) coaching changes are made.

I really like Miles, but whether he's a great guy or the winningest coach ever are not the right questions.
This is a highly competitive environment and the quality of his product is on a downward trajectory. You saw the performance last night: we won, but we were not good. Florida, for example would have beaten us.
The question is whether keeping Les is in the best interest of the program. Regrettably, it appears to me the game has passed him by.

.462 winning percentage vs. the SEC West since 2012
14-10 record vs. the SEC since 2013
3.25 losses a year since 2008 while putting the most players in the NFL
If being mediocre and underachieving is a reason to NOT be fired then so be it! Lets just accept 3-5 losses a season!

Welp... we're fricking DONE now. Miles totally believes NOTHING is wrong with the program.

That's not les at allllllll. I'm not saying he's dumb, but he certainly isn't on the level it takes to be an active participant in creating a modern day offense.

Les Miles got a reprieve, not an appointment for life.
I am a big supporter of Miles, but he has to see that change is necessary. If it doesn't change, then he will be gone this time next year or even before that.
So let's get behind the program and be positive LSU fans. We just took an unbelievable beating from the sports media.

I think Tiger Woods should make the next Ryder Cup team. After all, he is the most successful golfer playing today. Sure the trajectory of his career is going downward but since all that matters is the totality of one's career and not the here and now, why shouldn't he be named to the Ryder Cup squad?

I came here to post exactly this.
Had a huge lump in my throat and the sads when he waved his trademark white hat to the crowd, then again when he was carried off the field, then again when the players were talking about him being their father figure.
Win or lose, I'm going to support my Tigers and Les Miles next year.

Then no coach ever deserved it.

He deserved to be fired. It was badly handled.
