No. That's just not true. How did you come to that conclusion?

It fell apart because these things typically fall apart when you are trying to hire a NC winning coach away from a very good program.

It was the lack of recognition of the difficulty of that hire combined with a general incompetence/lack of commitment to making a change that resulted in what happened.

A good AD would have listened to the boosters and made sure that all money for the buyout was secured and not dependent on a specific hire. That's just not a feasible plan. Without that's trying of a commitment, you just can't move forward. If you get that commitment, then you start the entire hiring process. And when Jimbo falls through your #2 and #3 are already vetted and ready to go.

What happened was basically the worst case scenario. Alleva cut the legs out of the current head coach...and then failed to replace him.

You are ignoring the public outcry and local and national media part of this deal.

If this isn't national news all week last week which led to the huge show of support at the game on Saturday...

Is Les Miles still the coach today? I doubt it.

That reporting and all the stuff on every LSU site there is was the result of Allevas inability to control the information on this stuff.
