go all in on Herman and let people freak out. Dude is the future.
You may be right, but people freaking out would be warranted IMO. He is as big of a risk/reward candidate as you'll find. He could be a great hire, or he could turn out to be Larry Coker...

All this talk really should be eliminated until Monday.
Either JIMBAW is the man and the deal was discussed months ago or he was a smokescreen all along to usher in the new guy that barely anyone is talking about.
Eta: No sources for that.

To an extent, yes, it would be a little warranted. I think Herman is basically equivalent to chip kelly when Oregon brought him in under belotti. He's a terrific coach, but a bit of an unknown.
I think he's going to be dynamite somewhere big eventually. Would rather give him a shot here then watch him go somewhere else and do it.

Herman is worth the risk. Lsu is in a corner now at this point, you can't go back to les. Might as well get the best young coach you can.

Oh how people forget just how pedestrian miles' record was as a head coach before coming to LSU.
So was Saban's. What's your point?

It's part of their new narrative to defend miles. Setting up the new coach for failure with unrealistic expectations.
I bet you have to concentrate to breathe.
The expectations of your ilk is that any retard can win 9-10 games at LSU. And yet it's other people that have unreal expectations?
I am doing the next guy a favor by saying the likelihood of matching/exceeding Miles is lower than the likelihood that an unknown coach does worse.

This has been in the works. Agent reached out last year.

Basically the same resume as Tom Herman. I'm not really trying to knock Herman, just pointing out that is it understandable for people to have reservations about Herman.

It's become evident that people are that stupid and vindictive.

Tbh you could have reservations about most people. I think it's understandable, he's just my preference I guess. The last two guys we got were young coaches on the upswing of their careers..might as well try it again imo.

I've been saying this since this shite show started. If we don't get Jimbo, there are still several other candidates that I'd love to have.

2. Why do i care?
And you still don't get it. Both of them had mediocre records in big time conferences, but both succeeded and won championships at LSU. Once they were able to recruit this great state and get upgrades done to facilities and pay for high caliber assistants, they became the successful coaches they are.
Get a guy in here that has had a mediocre to great record. One that is successful with QBs for a good period of time (I want this most of all because we have hugely failed at it). One that has played against some good competition.

I've seen no one day this. I have seen plenty of people that wanted LSU to lose to Ole Miss though. Never seen a "pumper" actively want LSU to lose.

You have been destroying people throughout this. Well done.

In a normal year when there is no $15M buyout to consider, it would be tough to understand. However, b/c of the buyout, the coach we get better be a HR hire (Fisher, Kelly, maybe a few others) or LSU looks bad and suffers long-term damage. I understand people who may not agree with that position but I don't understand you if you can't fathom that.

There are easily 15-20 coaches at a minimum who could lead us to 8-3 or 9-2 regular seasons every single year. No risk in replacing an overpaid bafoon of a coach.
Yes. IF they can recruit. Miles is a GREAT recruiter. He may miss on needs sometimes but he can recruit talent.

It's so easy when there is no middle ground with some of these goons. It's either frick Miles or you love him more than LSU. When they are hit in the brick head with a rational opinion somewhere along the infinite spectrum between, they have nothing.
