For 7 games LSU fans said "Develop the passing game." Miles just ran the ball.

Last week, we have to throw 51 times because the offense is horrible and ineffective. We have over 500 yards total offense but only 17 points because we cannot execute worth anything. For 7 weeks, LSU fans were making the case on this board that we needed a balanced offense and needed to develop the passing game. For 7 weeks, we ran LF into the ground into 9 men in the box because that is Les' style.
We all predicted that once we got to November that all of that wouldn't work. Some on here said that that was crazy and that LSU could run on anyone.
LSU is 0-3 in November and have been blown out 3 straight games.
The reason that many believe it is time for Les to go is because the average fan can see more than he can see, apparently.
I'd rather go 9-3 with a coach who did EVERYTHING he could to win every game and fell short sometimes than go 9-3 with a coach who refused to adjust and ran his team into a brick wall over and over again while we are all yelling for him to try something different but his pride forces him to keep doing the same thing repeatedly.
Miles has a great record. He also puts more players into the NFL than anyone. But, having all that talent and running it into a brick wall over and over is pointless. It is a waste. And, if the average fan can see it and be proven right over and over again, then why are we paying a coach $5 million to NOT see it?
I'll take 9-3 with Jimbo who will try before I will 9-3 with Les who just stares dumbfounded at the field while teams shock him by stopping the same plan he runs every single week.

Les will have 12 more games next year to develop Harris.

The 3 games leading up to Bama, we averaged over 22 pass attempts for over 200 yards and 2 TDs. Facts don't jive with your post, but that's no surprise.

22 passes is only considered a lot in the eyes of an LSU fan. This running game would be wide open if Harris could complete 60% on 30 attempts.

Penalties killed us also.

Moving the goal posts already? It was plenty of pass attempts to "work on the passing game." The issue was we didn't bring an offensive line to Tuscaloosa.

730 yards and 5 or 6 TDs passing in the 3 games leading up to Bama.
In fact, the one reason I went into the Bama game with some confidence was that we finally--FINALLY--had developed a passing game.

The yards mostly came on big plays and the completion percentage was not great. We did very little over the middle or in the 10-20 yard range. We did not develop the passing game in a way that could move the ball down the field consistently. Our passing game hopes for a one-on-one with a receiver deep down field.
Why are LSU receivers never open? No matter who we play, a DB or two are all over whoever we throw the ball to? Yet, every other program we face consistently gets receivers wide open. It is because our passing game is terrible and it has been that way and everyone knows exactly what we are doing.
Those 3 games with 22 passing attempts and 200 yards were a mirage and you could see it while it was happening.
I think that Brandon Harris could be a good QB. But, they never want to run the risk of him throwing an intereception, so that passing game stays underdeveloped and good teams exploit that.

The problem is recruiting players and not utilize them to their potential/skill set. Russell Sheppard, Dupre, Donte Jackson and Guice. Its like why buy a Ferrari when you can't drive manual?

Im serious. I believe 100% that most of the people that post on this board can coach offensively better than miles and cam.

Ok Captain Hindsight. Let's see some posts of yours from back then saying this. I'm sure they exist.

The "issue" is that our passing game only worked after we ran the ball into 8-9 man fronts who were loaded up to stop the run. Once we played a defense with a decent front 7, our plan didn't work and we didn't have an alternative. It is like no one noticed that our whole offensive philosophy was to try and let LF break a long one into and through 9 men in the box and then trick the defense into falling asleep on long passes to a single wide receiver out of play action from the I-formation. And, it worked until we played competent teams/defenses.
Not everyone is stupid and some teams have the talent to stop our one dimensional offense. The passing yards were a mirage and came against defenses that had to stack the box to stop Fournette. But, we overpowered them at the point of attack. As soon as we can no longer overpower a team, they stop us cold.

No need to make the case anymore man. Everyone with a brain knows Miles is incompetent. He's gone

What goal posts? You said 22 passes was plenty and I disagree. How is that moving goal posts?
Clearly it worked! 22 passes woo hoo!

What exactly would you have liked us to do? Tell the other teams to not load the box so we can work on our passing game? It doesn't work that way.

Not even gonna justify the stupidity of this post with a response.

I don't know what I posted at the time. I tend to be happy with big plays. But, others were saying it and were getting slammed over it and I remember agreeing with it. I remember that as the 3 and outs were piling up because we could not move the ball consistently against teams like Eastern Michigan I was getting concerned. I remember wanting to see a lot more 10-15 yard passes instead of either throwing it behind the line or 40 yards downfield.
Lots of people were saying this but they were all called "Negatigers" while being laughed at. I have always been a "positiger" but I could see the weakness as well. If I could see it, why couldn't the coaches?

So, Les' plan worked?
Clearly it did not. It was apparent as the season wore on. Hundreds of posts were written saying that this crappy offense would not work in November. And, every single one had people like you calling the post stupid.
Well, who was right?
The passing game is a train wreck and has been. It produces big plays from time to time that pads the stats, but it is not consistent and can't move the ball up and down the field. If you can't see that, I can't help you.
