If you feel sorry for Miles...don't

Les Miles makes about 4.5 million bucks a year (rounded up). That means that over 365 days he earns $12,328.80 in gross salary per day. Unless you are an OT lounge balla (I know that applies to many of you) Les Miles is making more money in three days than the average median household income for Louisiana (36K) makes in a year. Les has been paid in the neighborhood of 50 million bucks gross in his 11 years here with at least an another 12 million on the way. That is generational transformative wealth. His grandkids will never have to work if he doesn't want them to. The pity party for Miles can stop. He is doing just fine.

Nobody feels sorry for miles.

You would be surprised. I have heard a fair amount of pity because he is "such a nice guy" and "considers Baton Rouge home".

And let's not even mention that the buyout amount wouldn't be near what it is if Les hadn't held LSU hostage with nonexistent job offers.
And yeah, I get it; that's just business. And that's fine. But by that token, some of you need to knock off the canonization movement to turn him into St. Les the Martyr as well.

Don't tell me how to feel.
Just feel yourself.
Just feel yourself.

Miles would be in a better situation if he didn't rake LSU over the coals with the Arkansas job BS.

You're a liberal aren't you? I'm betting a union worker or a plant worker somewhere.

I don't feel sorry for Miles he will do great. I feel sorry for the fans who do love LSU but unfortunately the bad fans have made a joke of our school. Everything LSU is being made fun of in media is well deserved. Many said we were a 3-4 loss team this year cause next year is when we would have experience. We have three losses and the meltdown has happened. I am proud LSU alumni and think we deserve everything bad the media is saying about us. I live outside of Louisiana for work but wear my colors to every LSU event that takes place by me. I hear it more than many of you in the state when we suffer any loss. They love to talk trash when we lose in any sport. And I have had more friends outside of LSU who cheer for other SEC teams contact me to say, "what is LSU thinking?" People do fear the hat but our fans are twisting as if they are the media saying, "cause they are scared of who we will get to replace him." No stupid they get it, you don't....this is stupid.

How does that rank among college head coaches today? 4th or 5th?

Every time I see someone mention money, Les's salary or the the buyout, all I can really read is jealousy and inferiority complex. This quite obviously isn't and never has been about money for LSU or Les.
Les was compensated within the scope of his profession. Say all you want about a downward spiral, holding LSU "hostage" for a raise, etc, but in all reality, Les has run a top tier program for 11 years and LSU paid him a competitive wage within his industry to do so.
I don't think a person alive would "feel sorry" for Miles because of his payout because I doubt he really gives a shite about it himself. Of course, he's going to get what he's owed as per the contract he negotiated, and he's entitled to it. Most top tier coaches have a very similar clause in their contracts.
For the love of all that's holy, just stop with the buyout crap. It's so misguided. If you think money is the solution to everything I feel sorry for you. For Miles and for LSU this is about way more.

Haha! How does pointing out the facts of Miles' salary spread out over a year make me a liberal? Actually I'm a libertarian. And look at my profile if you want to see what I do. It's all right there. I don't subscribe to the belief that you are either just conservative or just liberal(sorry for the poli-board diversion but the question was asked).

Actually, I'm a season ticket holder. Wrong again.
