If you're willing to part with 7 figures to get rid of a respected coach in December instead of January then you've got an insane amount of money.

Let's say you're worth $50 million, with around $5m net coming every year, and you give 1 million for this particular cause. That's still like a regular OT baller giving $10k.

Honestly, do you really think LSU Football is the only charitable cause for anyone? Just imagine how much they are giving in total, if they're willing to give that kind of money for LSU football.

Your analogy implies that someone worth $500k won't give $10k over 5 years.

If you don't, it severely limits what coaches you have available to choose from. That's just the cost of doing business when you sign an idiotic extension.
