I currently only know one person who calls his grandparents this.
The new thing is to get creative with the grandparents name. Honey, Sugar, Sweetie, GiGi, etc.
I'm not a grandmother, yet, but I have jokingly said I want to be Sugah Puddin' as a reaction to all of these specialized grandmother names.

I know several Grandpere'
Mine were Grandmother and Granddaddy and Grandpop.
I will be called Pop or Papa which my daughter sometimes calls me now anyway.
