It was first a 4 door. Then they made it 2.

Knowing corporate America, it was probably an evil capitalist scheme to earn money by selling vehicles that people were willing to buy.

I have a 04. It is a 4 door? The real question is, why did they make a 2 door out of a utility vehicle in the first place

Why are you asking this question? They have made a 4 door Yukon/Tahoe for years now.

They can't make those things fast enough to keep up with the increasing demand.

Trucks used to be single cab
Then trucks had camper shells
Then vehicles like Broncos came out which was basically a truck with a permanent camper shell.
Then trucks got extended cabs around the 80s prob
Then trucks became double cabs with 3 or 4 doors around the mid 90s I think
Then the evolution if the soccer mom SUVs happened and now you see suburbian families running errands and needing a Hummer to go shop at Bed Bath and Beyond.
