Pretty sure being crushed by Arkansas and Ole Miss will be the demise of this recruiting class. Which is why they need to land a well known replacement, and soon.

I disagree with your definition of letting this linger.
Everything now is undercurrent. The media is on a news cycle, getting the scoop, talking in hypotheticals makes their revenue.
Miles wasn't getting fired today. The AD hasn't commented. There is no rational way to characterize this as LSU dragging it's feet. Unless LSU has secured Les' replacement and LSU is ready to announce, you won't hear anything official.
If that happens next Monday after this weekend's games, it's still November 30th. That's not going to affect recruiting. Who we hire would.

I agree...the only saving grace is not much movement with other vacancies...I have no idea what other teams are waiting on
