I recall at the time that his teams rushed a lot more than people gave credit for but I don't know the numbers

Look at Wazzous last game stats, he runs when the numbers are there

Anyone can look at a coach being succesful with a team of top recruits and say hey that man can coach. Can he? Or is he the product of his talent? Maybe
Show me a guy that can take a team if 3 stars and run with a team of 5 stars and thats coaching
Like the Bear said, ill take my team and beat your team then ill take your team and beat my team.

Leach knows how to win with the talent he has. I'd love the hire

I've been saying this for years, about any SEC vacancy that comes up.
For us, though...
HC: Leach
OC: Doesn't matter, obviously...but give it to Frank Wilson to keep him on staff.
DC: Throw money at Pelini, or promote YawYaw if that doesn't work...again, to keep him on staff.
Imagine LSU offensive skill position talent with a QB (probably from TX) who can actually get them the ball.

i'm a huge leach fan. he's my favorite coach. if he were given a chance to be LSU's coach, the initial shock would be immense but he would absolutely ROLL teams with the talent pool in the south.
he's going toe to toe with PAC 12 teams and beating them with lesser talent. he almost beat stanford and DID beat oregon this year.

Me too
I record the Wazzou games and watch them later. His QB would be in the Heisman run if ppl were awake for their games
Kid has like a 4-5 to 1 td int ratio while leading the nation in passing

And to all the haters...
I'm not hearing an actual argument against it.
He's been successful in the SEC. He may or may not be a good recruiter (he's certainly a character), but he'll have better talent at LSU than anywhere he's been, by far. Also...that's why I suggested retaining FW and Coach O. Yeah, he's an "offense-only" coach...so go out and get a stellar defensive coordinator, aka Bo Pelini. Spurrier was an offensive-minded coach at UF, which is why he had Stoops/Strong as his DC. That seemed to work out nicely. He can't recruit RBs?! Are y'all not familiar with the RB talent the state of La produces every frickin' year? Even if we didn't get them...his system isn't terribly reliant on elite RBs. Too old? He's 54, and he has a passion for the game. Plenty of years left.
Plus...Spurrier's gone. We'd have the instant king of press conferences!

...and one more thing!
He's an active mind and a guy who appreciates culture. I think the lifestyle of southern Louisiana would be a hell of a selling point for him, so he wouldn't be hard to get. Spend the extra money on DC and facilities.

I'm not even gonna lie. I hope LSU never hires Mike Leach. I like his coaching philosophy and regardless of what anyone else may think about him, I like the guy. I just hope the Hogs never have to compete against him in the SEC.

he would be a handful, that's for sure. he used to coach in the SEC. remember tim couch?
yeah, that was all mike leach. tim couch was a 1st round NFL draft pick.

Say goodbye to every RB on the roster. It's not that he can't recruit RBs, he doesn't use them.

Season stats:
257 rushes for 928 yards at 3.6 ypc. 8tds.
Meanwhile they've thrown the ball 627 times.
As I said, say goodbye to any RB currently on the roster or any future elite RB that would otherwise consider LSU.

Say hello to every top qb and wr in the nation
I agree you wouldnt be in running for Henry types but youd land guys who could run and catch
