Does your boss act like a hardass? Some do and some don't. I'd say that a any successful manager or coach in business or in sport has a vision with built in performance expectations. A good leader assures that the vision is achieved by attempting to perfect performance. This requires that participants are held accountable to accomplish details. With that the leader must focus on details and accept that he or she will be called a micro-manager, hardass, nitpicker or whatever. However, there's no doubt who is in charge.
