The energy in New Orleans was unlike anything I've ever experienced before or after. it had been building up all year. Probably the best night of my life.
Lucy's had a block party and projected the game onto the building next door. When Porter picked off the pass, it felt like a riot. I instinctively grabbed a beer out of some guy's hand (sorry stranger) and doused myself in it. We knew we had won and the party started. Everyone was hugging strangers, crying, going crazy. Naturally we headed to the Quarter and people along the way were just dancing and celebrating with complete strangers, handing out beers and hugs alternately. Bourbon was as packed as Mardi Gras day but you didnt mind it. It was electric.
Eventually we wanted to go to F&Ms but trying to get a cab didn't even cross our mind. The girls I was with just waved a handful of cash at some brother in his car and he gladly took us there. We hotboxed it the whole way and bought his drinks in there. I don't really remember coming home. It was like a movie.
