Have you ever seen the USMNT playing this flat and boring?

Their games lately look like scrimmages. It's pathetic.
This is absolutely no reason for us to send this team to the next world cup if they are going to play like this. No reason. If they were put in a group with, for example, Nigeria, Ukraine, Paraguay, would would maybe take 1 or 3 points, that it. Would you put money on them getting out a group with these teams?
Now I do realize the world cup in a few years away, we are in the CANCACAF and some players will emerge and *could* fix the team in time for the WC, but I don't think I have every seen a midfield so bad in my life. There is no smooth flow to passes, no attacking edge or flair, no energy. What the hell is wrong with these guys?
And don't come with the "they're only 2 games into the qualifying", they have been like this all year.

Yes. More than anything else, it's more of the same.

I feel like we frequently play a pragmatic or boring style on the road in CONCACAF. I did expect us to be more offensive and creative under Klinsmann, but he's been a disappointment by and large. I also think our pool has less talent than we like to admit, and the "saviors" that he won't play like feilhaber will only move the needle so far. I think we're learning exactly how much we relied on Donovan and Dempsey to provide the creativity and finishing for this team.

It's fine. You are just immature.

How much of this is based of Bradley playing in the attacking midfield role? He is more of a technical player instead of a creative, chance creator type of player. I love Bradley but he is almost too rigid to create chances. We need someone who will do the unexpected and create. Just my .02.

I also wish we had a more dynamic striker to replace Jozy. I've always been a Jozy fan and he's the 5th leading scorer for the US all time, but the way he's played over the past year does not lead to free flowing attack as much as it has in the past.

We're definitely a team that throughout history plays to the level of our opponents. IE. the 2008 Champions Cup and the 2015 Gold Cup.
Or you can even look back to when we were one Chris Wondolowoski shot away from beating the no 1. team in the world right now in the World Cup.
This really shouldn't be a surprise at this point.

Sometimes we have like 5-6 guys not in their best position. We'll have Zardes and Yedlin at outside mid, bradley as a 10, Johnson as a LB, Orozco or Ream also as an outside back. It's hard to play pretty, efficient soccer when guys aren't even in their preferred spots.

At the end of the day, we are a vastly inferior team without Donovan. We have nothing even close to a replacement for him and there is no in the history of our talent pool close to as good as him with his level of finishing, corner kicks, touch, and spatial awareness.

But I thought Jurgen was supposed to pull us away from playing like that, right?

Yep... there's a reason he leads in both goals and assists, by a lot.
He was just so good at finding the right space to be in when on an attack and his ability to make the right pass is something that nobody in our current pool has.

So are you agreeing that the current state of the USMNT rivals the lowest points, the points when the manager was fired?
This is the worst I have seen the USMNT play since 1998.

I think the only time I was truly impressed by our USMNT play was 2002. Every other time I've watched a non-friendly game, it has been a disappointment, even if we won. I long to see at least 1 dynamic player on our USMNT that makes the game exciting to watch.

Yeah ALL we need is an international level #10. It's Jurgen's fault we don't have one I'm sure.
The difference between now and before is that now we don't have Landon Donovan and a prime Clint Dempsey. Two attacking players who were good enough to start and make an impact in top flight European leagues.
