I was impressed with the defense in both games so far (I know the level of competition is low). At first I was scratching my head with the pressing, but it ended up working out. I think this team had a few shooters that could have kept them in this game, but we completly removed that element of their game.

The two major runs this team went on in both games (right before half in this one and right after in McNeese game) is something that I don't feel is getting enough attention. That's two very impressive runs, no matter who you are playing. And that can't be done without really great defense.

They are outstanding on perimeter D, But screens sometimes screw with them and they get lazy sometimes. Nothing big just ssomething to improve.

Last year they were pretty good defensively so i would assume they will get back to that level

Mind blowing how deep this team will be once Hornsby and Victor start playing.

1,2,3 position - Q, Gray, Blakeney, Sampson, Hornsby, Patterson

4,5 position - Simmons, Victor, Robinson, Epps

That's a SOLID 10 man rotation. As deep a team as I can remember in a very very long time. Also one of the fastest. Lightning quick on the fast break. Hard to temper expectations after tonight. Can't wait for the Marquette game.
