I think he's a good blank slate kind of actor, and he seems easy to deal with, allowing him to get lots of work without creating problems. He seems to excel in ensemble pieces (Boogie Nights, Italian Job, the Departed, Perfect Storm).
I think the Ted movies suck out loud, but he was in the Other Guys, so he can do comedy. And he can do serious drama like The Fighter or The Basketball Diaries. He can't really carry a movie (Rockstar, Invincible), but he can do good big-budget work.
I find it hard to have an extreme opinion on him.

I've always been in the camp that the importance of "good" acting is over rated. Most of the stuff I've seem Marky Mark in I've liked, so i thought he was fine, certainly not ruining anything and I even like Rockstar but i do agree he's better in an ensemble cast .
