Exactly. Also, his exit deserves to be handled with respect and fairness...great guy...great coach, but I think it's time.

Nah. You think you are the rants police officer.
If you had two thirds of a brain, you'd put some math to work for you.
Let's say I spent 100% of my 5000 posts enlightening you about miles over the last 6 years. It STILL WOULDNT be 50% of your non-sequitur 20000 posts about the guy you defend with some of the weakest excuses for.
Here's an idea: Push fat arse away from keyboard. Take a breather. And stop doing what you would consider policing; when you are really just a self-glorified hall monitor.
Do you have some kind of "pumper" app that alerts you to realist posts? You're here. Quite a bit.

good guy. successful tenure. some accomplishments. that being said, theres a culutre thats been percolating since 2011. november collapses. owned by bama. losing ones you "shoudlnt". team quits late in the year and the underclassmen leave to collect a paycheck after mailing in the last 3-4 games. this just didnt start now. its been that way for 4 years. lose the final 2 and he should go, though he'll still be here next year. next year, these talented sophomores will be juniors. bama loses a ton. auburn is in flux. ole miss loses their big 3. no more dak. arky is arky. compete for a title next year or he'll be gone. that simple.

No one claims he is a total failure. But it's no coincidence that he has a good resume and people still want him gone.
Ole Miss clock game, back to back flops against Arkansas, the Tennessee clock game, the Tennessee blown lead, multiple blown 4th quarter leads, 1/9/12, always being the most penalized team, ranking in the 100s in passing offense etc etc.
People hate Miles because he has refused to fix the major flaws in his approach, which are usually responsible for 1-2 losses a year.
When was the last time LSU lost, and you could genuinely say they played and coached a good game and just got beat? Generally the losses are the result of terrible game plans or game management. This is the #1 problem people have with miles.

ook, if we fall flat and go 7-4 i think even the biggest pumper would be ok with moving on. Every year the rant praises some new coach for a hot year they are having as someone we should hire and more often than not that coach fades away after not being able to sustain it.
this
so much this
who was it that tRant was obsessed with in 2009? Turner Gill? LOL

.but if les can win these last 2...that's 9-2 with a big bow
this is what I'm wondering
if, and it is a big if, LSU wins out, that would be an 11-2 season (I'm including McNeese) which would be one of Miles best seasons at LSU. Would the people that want him fired today, still want him fired?

At Georgia, 2013.
Sure, we bitched about our lousy defense, but those types of losses happen even to powerhouse programs--in that case, a shootout to a highly ranked Georgia team between the hedges.

We come up with silly judgements like "he out talents other teams is only reason he wins" well recruiting is part of coaching...he gets the talent so why not use it to win? God forbid a coach uses a advantage like lsu has with no instate rival to actually recruit.
Two things:
a) Any competent coach in America can recruit in Louisiana if he puts the right emphasis on it and hires the right staff.
b) The reason people say this is very obvious. Miles is not an innovator or in-game tactician. He honestly doesn't really seem to do anything. What's his specialty? Surely offensive line play, right? How many players from this position unit have been drafted in the first round? How do we usually perform in this area? How have we performed the last month? Why do we change our blocking scheme all of a sudden by hiring a new assistant when this should be his area of expertise?
He's an OC by trade who runs an antiquated system and gets mediocre production. He generally has terrible clock management and decision making skills in the game. His gameplanning for lesser opponents is poor, and we typically struggle to put inferior teams away. These types of things don't come to mind with two great coaches in the modern era in Saban or Meyer, and they have tremendous talent. So yeah, I'd say people say that for a reason.

if Flynn doesn't complete the late td against auburn in 2007 that's another late game clock gaff that costs us a game.
First, you realize that if that pass would have been incomplete the clock would have stopped with 2-3 seconds left on the clock which would have still allowed for a FG attempt to win, right?
Second, you can what if every game (particularly close ones) to death. There's always going to be a handful of plays that break one way or the other that everyone scrutinizes to death. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter because what happened, happened and you'll never know what could have been.

While hate is not the ideal word; he had the athletic director duped. We could have let him go to Arkansas and he would be a good coach for them. It would have been a win win.
Instead, the pumpers have switched roles with Ole Miss fans as their season expectations and excuses are now reversed. I cannot explain that mystery.

the "he out talents everyone" is one of the dumbest arguments I read on here all the time
Saban gets the #1 recruiting class every year...do we use the same argument for Saban?

Any logical LSU fan should agree with this.

I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but I just explained exactly why people say it. Saban is a great recruiter but he's also known for being outstanding in other areas.
People aren't saying having talent is a knock on Miles.

NO change needed WE have a fanbase, a large section of a fan base that is happy being Average with Miles. Bama was AVG with Shula they got rid of him, and look where they are now. Bama expected more and that's what they got. We expect LES and that's what we get, LESS./// But we all talk about 07. A 2 loss Championship with Saban players that Miles lost to 2 INFERIOR teams. Kentucky and Arkansas, and all the stars had to line up for us to win with by far the most talented team in the country!!!1 POOR LSU

i basically agree with all you said.
Our players don't play as if they are being coached well, we don't play aggressively like a well coached team does.
We show do many symptoms, such as: coverage breakdowns, penalties, timeouts to get correct formation, delay of game, poor tackling, lack of creating turnovers....you must make the diagnosis. This year isn't an isolated case btw.
We either don't prepare or we don't teach well, or we have bad talent assessment.
I like Les and hope he goes out with a parade. But I personally think he should just move on.

But no one insinuates that by saying Miles out-talents people. I just explained why. To recap, people say that Miles finishes 6-2 or 5-3 in conference not because of great playcalling, brilliant gameplanning, or solid execution on either side of the ball, but because he has talent, almost exclusively. No one would say the same thing about any of the current/recent great CFB coaches (Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, Carroll, Kelly, Fisher, etc.). Where are you confused?

Yeah, what ifs are a bitch alright. For instance:
What if a crook ref Doesn't throw a PF flag on the one in the Bama game last year?
What if the crook ref had called
Petersons int at Bama?
What if we didn't have a legit PF called on our FB against Bama a year or two ago?
What if we had stopped a third down several times against Bama.?
What if the BCS hadn't been corrupted by some coaches including the Negas' Lord Saban to give him a mulligan?
As to the Flynn last seconds pass-
One of the greatest plays I've seen in TS for a win and instead of enjoying it people are still dumping on it. Miserable M' effers.
