The real reason...

The real reason we lost to Bama is not because of our coaches, play calling, schemes, or anything else. Our main issue was the fact that Alabama's defensive line was able to stay fresh and energized by rolling in substitutions the entire game. This left our tired and gassed out O-Line to go against evenly-talented, fully energized defensive linemen. I know it is not logistical to substitute o-lineman in and out, but I could tell our guys were tired compared to their opposition.I know that in the first half, our run game was not doing that much, but this is typical because we usually wear the out first half and run crazy during the second. I think scheme change would have helped momentarily, but not for the entire game. I know this is just my opinion, no better or worse than any other, but I would like to hear what y'all think about it.

It's easy to stay fresh when you have to ball for 40 of 60 minutes.
Perhaps if Miles would have actually game planned the LSU could have won.

Part of it. In addition, to the coaches not calling for more short passing due to lack of faith in passing game. BH is getting better and that may not be an issue going forward.
The answer is to recruit at the highest levels for both lines. We MUST at least match Bama recruiting wise in those areas. Developing complete QBs and WRs not dropping passes helps too:).

Teams with less talent don't get road graded by their dline...and oline. They run hurry up, spread the dield...look for ways to attack them rather than just run right into their strength. They had a couple interior dlinemen play that would rarely see the field against a spread team.

Alabama's D-line plays a two gap technique, which makes them susceptible to misdirection. They eat up straight ahead plays, like the "toss dive".

Miles has had ten years to get the guys HE WANTED, then came the second part, developing them. They got mauled on offense and defense.
Then comes the motivation issue. Folks here say miles is a great recruiter. So he has the talent he wants. But we're they ready to play? He's only lost the last five, so you know he had them ready to play to the extent hat he is able to.
He also thought his gameplan was the best anyone has ever seen: "Show Alabama your manhood". Well he got his handed to him, instead.......again.
It ultimately comes down to how college coaches prepare their teams. It starts in March.
Miles is a cool guy. And his players love him to the point of trying to reward him on game day with great play as seen this year.
But sabans coaches fear him, so they motivate their players that are already scared of Saban too.
He's smart enough to gameplan.......correctly......against miles because he has a good idea that it will come down to lsu and Bama. If Bama beats us, they own the tiebreaker.
So it's difficult to see why the short answer of "coaching" is not, and still not acceptable by the pumpers.
Just look at the microcosm of special teams and tell me that disaster was the product of a well coached team vs another well coached team.
Bama is the measuring stick for miles and he only stands two feet tall to a 5'6" Saban.
