I have put quartzite in two kitchens and found it almost unstainable. That would be my recommendation.

You just have to make sure the quartzite is actually quartzite. Some stones get labeled quartzite that are actually marble. If you can get a sample of the quartzite, there are tests you can do to identify what it really is.

Our quartzite counters have been in use for about four or five months and so far it appears to be bullet proof. *fingers crossed*
