The media pumps these movements up and they get get in a bubble where they all they hear is how brave they are, how they have the moral high ground, and other smoke being blown up their arse.
This sense of over confidence leads to what happened with the reporter. People in these SJW and social media movements have been convinced they can do no wrong because their cause is "righteous"
