Guys chill out we can still make the playoff

Checkout the predicted playoff rankings. Most have us around 6... I've even seen a 5.
If we are 5-7 with 4 weeks of games left we can get to 4 regardless of bama

Honestly as stupid as it is it might give us an easier path if Alabama wins because we wouldn't need to go through the SEC championship game.

Can you imagine how much melt would be here if we made the playoffs as the 4 and had to play Bama as the 1? That would be entertaining as hell.

2 things, just in my own opinion:
- The committee is going to be reluctant to put a team in the playoff that didn't even make their own conference championship. We only make the title game if Bama loses again and we win out.
- The committee is going to be reluctant to put two teams from the same conference in the playoff unless they overwhelmingly cannot ignore both teams. A really bad loss like the one we had to the other team in contention is not going to score us points.
- The committee is going to be reluctant to put a team in the playoff that didn't even make their own conference championship. We only make the title game if Bama loses again and we win out.
- The committee is going to be reluctant to put two teams from the same conference in the playoff unless they overwhelmingly cannot ignore both teams. A really bad loss like the one we had to the other team in contention is not going to score us points.

And some things will take care of themselves. Stanford and ND have to play head to head so we'll leap frog one of those if they are both ahead of us by default.
Is Ohio State loses to either UM or MSU I think a one loss LSU team gets the nod.

it would help but they don't really need to if we stay around #7. either Florida or bama will be out...Okie State or Baylor will be out...Stanford or ND will be out...and a couple of other teams that may be ahead of us or close could easily lose.

when teams start knocking each other out (many already have one loss) they will have no choice if we can win out

It's definitely possible. But even if we win out and don't make the playoff, I still consider it one heck of a season. I predicted a couple losses. A one loss season would be amazing.

I'm 100% confident a conference champion will be in the playoffs, 4 of them, no matter what, unless Ok St goes undeafeated! Then it will be 3 Conference Champs and them, that is it!

Wanna bet. I'm confident a 2 loss champ isn't getting in over a 1 loss team with a SOR in the teens and a road loss to the #1 team in their rankings.
