So what will it take to have LSU back in the playoffs besides winning out??

Alabama lose another game.

We need certain teams to lose I think

It must be nice to lose your division, not participate in the SECCG, rest and still get to compete for the natty.

You do realize we would win the division and compete for the SEC championship if we win our next 3 games and Bama loses one of either MSU or @auburn right?
In his scenario we win the sec championship, we are in the playoffs.

It would be the most poetic justice ever if we were to somehow get into the playoffs without playing in the seccg. Then win the first game against whoever (OSU likely), Bama wins their bracket, then we beat them in the NC game.
One can dream.

We're done.
This was the season maker and LSU didn't get it done. The word playoffs does not even need mentioning on this board unless the Gumps lose.
Maybe next year.

Theoretically:
Clemson - in
Alabama @MSU, @Auburn, SEC Championship - in
Ohio State vs MSU, @Mich, Big 10 Championship - out
Baylor vs Ok, @OkSt, @TCU, vs Tex - out
Notre Dame @ Stanford - in
Oklahoma State vs Baylor, vs Ok - out
Iowa @Nebraska, Big 10 Champ - out
Stanford vs Oregon, vs Cal, vs ND, Pac 12 Champ - out
LSU vs Ark, @Ole Miss, vs TA&M - in
Would need a lot of cards to fall in the right places, but it's possible.

Show up and thoroughly win....could teams need to lose. We play one of the (if not the) toughest remaining schedule in football. Mich St and TCU losing were big, and Baylor will not survive OK State and OK with their QB issue. ND needs to lose to Stanford--we will not overcome the ND media draw, but we can overcome Stanford.

I'm assuming Bama will not lose to either of those teams, beats UF, and goes to the playoffs. In that scenario, if we win out, do you think we get the luxury of a rematch/do over? The committee gave Bama that when only two teams played for the championship. Well now 4 do, does the committee give to LSU what it gave to Bama in 2011?

There is no way for lsu and bama to both make the playoffs unless all but two teams have two losses. Not gonna happen.

"Playoffs??? You talkin' bout Playoffs????"

Situation A) Alabama loses vs Auburn/Mississippi St
Situation B) Oklahoma defeats OKST, OKST defeats Baylor, Stanford defeats ND, Ohio State loses to Michigan/Michigan ST
Both situations obviously require us to win out

No, and unless some crazy shite happens then we wouldn't deserve it.
Bama deserves to be in the National Championshop in 2011.

If LSU wins out, and in impressive fashion, which one loss team will have a better loss than LSU? I'm thinking Notre Dame will lose again. And if we look good down the stretch, the "eye test" will work for us right? After all we have what everyone knows is the best player in NCAAF, not to mention being stacked with NFL talent.
