Joe Fakier, from Thibodaux passed away today after a valiant battle with cancer. He was a 3-time letterman 71-73 as a wide receiver for Coach Mac, and a member of three straight 9 win teams. Mr. Joe was a husband, father, grandfather, coach, and a tremendous person. My thoughts are with the Fakier family.

Stuart Scott said “When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.”

Joe Fakier beat cancer.

Joe's son is one of my best friends. He fought a long battle with cancer and is in a better place now with no more suffering. Prayers to the Fakier family.

I never knew of of his battle, but I knew Joe in the day. Great Tiger.
