I've been saying this since the committee got announced. They got lucky last year worked out pretty neatly for the most part. No one cared that Baylor or TCU got left out. But there is going to be a time when this committee royally screws over a program. It might be this year. Maybe next. But it's going to happen and is just a matter of time.

They are going to disguise it as the "eye test" which is just code for being biased and having no statistics to back up your opinion. No one holds the committee accountable. Nothing is public. We have no idea what the frick they are doing in there. Everyone says it doesn't matter right now and will work itself out. That's probably true. But the rankings show they don't have a clue. Jeff Long actually said that Bama was ahead of Florida because of wins over .500 teams. There are millions of dollars on the line and the committee needs to be held accountable. We should know exactly what is determining these rankings.

Say what you want about the BCS and it had its share of problems, but at least when a team got screwed they knew how it happened.

Then it will go to 8 teams and I would be completely happy with it. 4 is not enough. 24 in FCS is too many.

It is pretty similar actually. The computers can be predicted but the voters in the BCS could be just as inconsistent and inscrutable.
