Glad you enjoyed your meal. Bayona is one of those places that was trendy when it first opened because the chef, Susan Spicer, introduced some excellent dishes.
Those dishes are now classics since so many people order them repeatedly. This makes menu innovation more difficult, and as such the food critics focus elsewhere, and restaurants like Bayona become kind of an afterthought.
Consider John Besh, you don't hear as much about August and Luke as you do about his most recent restaurant. Which of Besh's restaurants do you think serves the best food?
