Mine is: "It's taking that piece of leather and knowing what to do with it."
(response to question on his plan of improving after another ugly loss, circa 1993)
Those were the bad old days!!! Thank God those times are long gone and the Tigers are back to where they belong!

"We have a group of fine young men"

Don't remember the exact quote, but I think it was part of the whole "black sock" controversy...
As bad of a head coach as Curley was, you can't argue with the accuracy of his comment...
It was something along the lines of, "Winning solves about 90% of your problems"...

What's with all the Hallman threads lately? They all suck as much as he did coaching LSU

"I though Jamie through the ball well....."
"We have got to make something positive happen"
wow...what a tough freaking time period to be a Tiger fan.
I can rem sitting in the stands hoping to win last game to go to the damn carquest bowl.

Slightly paraphrased because from memory:
"The inability to hold on to the football was our Achilles tendon out there today."
Almost certainly apocryphal, but too good not to include:
"Three words: Field po sition."

In his 4th year as coach and after the 6th loss that season, Jordy interviews Curly in the locker room. He asked Curley, "how do you get the players motivated to play the next game after such a tough loss?" Curley responded, "Anytime they put on the maroon and white, it should be all the motivation they need".
Do you think his head was ALL the way up his arse half the time or half way up his arse all the time?

I was at a meet and greet at KWKH in Shreveport with the LSU coaches, (including Dale Brown). I told him it sounded like he was bringing some much needed discipline to the team. He said he was and that he had recently told the players: "Now let me tell you what we're gonna'do with them earrings. We're gonna' tak'em out of your ears and stick'em in a box and give 'em to your girlfriend or your momma. 'Cause we ain't wearing no earrings at LSU."

Prior to his first season, speaking to our local alumni group, he said "We ain't got a cut dog's chance to win the SEC".

He also said he was going to stop the players from celebrating after touchdowns. He forgot to mention that the way he was going to do that was to not score touchdowns.

I don't remember that first one, but was it after the Auburn pick 6 debacle?

Ohhhhh, wise guy aye??
I also loved the way he would act like rolling dice to bring the team out of the tunnel.....that was a pretty good indication of how he had prepared the team for the game!!
Does anyone know what happened to him after being shite-canned by LSU?

"My favorite part of football is the sack. A sack of Golden Flake that is."

Our offense is going to be as open as a Case knife in a barroom brawl.
