Well, if I read right you said you bow hunt with a pistol on your hip because you're afraid of somebody walking up on you. That is pretty gay and down vote worthy. Imho

That's what I was talking about. I spend less time reading this board than the OT now because the tactical and concealed carry crowds make it tough to read.

Considering I have in fact had two hunts one in S. TX and one in MO where I in fact encountered a trespasser who was illegally poaching at less than 50 yards, I believe I have plenty of precedent.

Until you are strapped into a tree 15 ft off the ground with only the self defense power of a compound bow and encounter someone who is already breaking state and federal law and who is insisting you are in "his" stand, it may be hard to explain the unsettling feeling it gives you.



It is also nice to have the sidearm for encounters with hogs. Specifically when tracking a wounded hog.
















For those that dislike concealed carry or believe that it somehow makes the carrier paranoid or inferior, I really have no argument. That is your prerogative. I have been too often close to violence that deserves no foothold in my life or family.
