Let’s be honest: while these numbers are impressive, they don’t quite tell the entire story. As explosive as Fournette is, he’s not irreplaceable. Sure, the Tiger offense isn’t as effective without him in the lineup, but it doesn’t exactly fall apart either. After all, the LSU offensive line is arguably the best in the country, helping Bayou Bengal running backs run for an average of 6.97 yards per carry – the third-highest total in the nation. Their excellence at the point of attack has helped top backups Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams run for 8.65 and 5.56 yards per carry.
In other words, it doesn’t matter who the tailback is, LSU is going to move the football.
I mean he isn't wrong.
eta: About the offensive line. Leonard is irreplaceable.
eta2: He's just a contrarian a-hole, like me.

He's being a hipster about it.

Not having LF on your list is preposterous.
He is definitely the best player on my favorite team, but I can see arguments for the other guys being better candidates for the award - assuming the award is a "team mvp" type of thing and not necessarily "best player".
Given the quality of some of the other candidates, I have been surprised at how strong the LF narrative has been pushed.
Of course, I'm still bitter that TM7 didn't win in 2011. I assume that was just because of the missed games.

Sadly i read it. But his reasoning is why the heisman isnt a big deal anymore. He votes it as a mvp award. Its supposed to be for the best player in cfb.

When viewed in that context, which player means more to this team, Booker or Fournette? Shouldn’t the nation’s most outstanding player be the most irreplaceable person on his team?
That's a really fricking retarded way to pick the Heisman winner.

The dude says in his article he is penalizing Fournette for playing on a good team. He prob should re-examine his profession.

Sooo...because we have other good tailbacks, fournette shouldn't be as highly rated. Gotcha.

Leonard is the best player in the country.
End of story.
End of story.

Heisman lost its luster when Crouch won it.
Posted on 10/22/15 at 2:39 pm to Paul Allen
In 97 when woodson won over manning that was what the heisman was supposed to be. Suh and TM7 not winning were both crimes.

The I am smarter than everyone else and will show you attitude in his article. I bet he was drinking some mocca sippa poopy drink from Starbucks while he wrote.

He unknowingly admits that Leonard deserves the Heisman then changes the definition of the Heisman to create an argument to exclude him.

Cook and Fournette both deserve to be Heisman candidates right now, imo

Buga is the best player in the nation on the best team in the SEC, how can you not see it?
