Not eligible to return until week 9, but he should be the starting RB for Tennessee if healthy, right?

Andrews, Sankey, Cobb...do you really want to get involved with that backfield?

Not disagreeing with the quality, or lack thereof, of Antonio Andrews and Bishop Sankey, but depending on league size, is David Cobb really worth a stash? Tennessee's backfield seems like one you don't want to get involved with in 10- or 12-team leagues. Couple that with, in my opinion, David Cobb never really showing out as a "game-breaker" at Minnesota, despite the production over his final two seasons.

I agree with hoops.
DGB while raw has outproduced most if not every WR on that team and he is still barely climbing up the pecking order.
A RB fresh off Injury is not going to immediately jump to the front of the line there.
If OP thinks Cobb is going to get picked up this week then your hand is forced. I personally would prefer to at least see him get touches first. Not Lions share by any means but at least worked into the game plan before committing a roster spot to him.
In a 12 team or less league I would advise against it. Unless it is dynasty. Anything 16 plus then sure why not.
Edit: The talent argument could also be applied to Duke Johnson who off talent alone should have supplanted Crowell who has also been straight arse...but that has not happened yet either. Sometimes a backfield is just bad.

Would you rather have Cobb or stash Kevin White?

White if I can keep him next year. Cobb if redraft and need points this season

I'm not sure if Tenn will commit to an RB, but nobody else has exactly covered themselves in glory. Tenn's offense isn't bad, and if they start running Mariota that'll open up even more room for him.

Stashing him in a 12 team league. Literally no other viable options out there in my league. I dropped Sankey for Cobb.

yea
look at your team. you see that 5th WR you will never play or the 2nd QB or the 2nd TE or the 2nd DEF
owners treat trash players like gold on here.. Yes, it's safe to drop Tyler Lockett. Owen Daniels isnt going to break out. You have Tom Brady AND Derek Carr.
cobb will likely suck and if he does oh well i just drop him. if he's good, great, i have a player at a thin position for the stretch

Exactly. Same reason to take a chance on Christine Michael (picked him up this week). If they're the last two guys on my depth chart and neither pans out, no harm done. If, however, one of them happens to break out and become a consistent starting-quality RB, he could help win me the league.

I just picked him up as a week 9 bye week replacement in my 12 team standard league.
Lynch Charcandrick and (wishful thinking over Blue) Chris Polk have week 9 byes. All I have at RB that week would be Ingram and Joe Randle. Randle is about to be busted for whatever NFL investigation is going on. So here's to hoping that David Cobb kills it
