Arrieta hasnt done anything remotely close to this before this season, it is a sign of things to come, or was this a flash in the pan season for him? not a flame at all, i just want to know what Cubs fans thoughts are about it.

That thought has crossed my mind, but you don't dominate like he has this year and then just completely lose it (provided he stays healthy). He figured something out. Will he ever be this dominant again? Probably not. This was an insane year.
But I think he'll be our #1/#2 guy for the next few years.

By the way, congrats. If y'all play like this in the World Series, y'all may just get another sweep.

He was pretty fricking dominate 2nd half of last season. I'm sure there's some regression there but i think he's done it long enough now for me to comfortably say he deserves to get paid and be trusted.

Arrieta was a stud in 2014, and he was on verge of improving for 2015. His peripherals were phenomenal in 2014. I had no doubt Jake would be a top 20 starter and Cy Young candidate was a realistic, but high level outcome.
