I've been so invested in this current season that I really don't know what free agents are out there other than the big name pitchers and Heyward.
Jason Heyward will get a monster deal. I think he would be perfect for Chicago, but probably not in CF. Therein lies the problem.
Kyle Schwarber and Jorge Soler have some work to do on defense.

Didn't Heyward play RF with the Cardinals, only to switch to CF when players like Piscotty were inserted into the game?

I'm sure there's a metric out there that could either prove this right or wrong, but just based off of everything said about fowler's CF defense and then seeing it in play at wrigley i think he'd be fine. Round about way of saying i think it's easier to play CF at wrigley than a lot of places.
I see the cubs having between 25 and 40 million to play with this offseason. Based on the obvious pitching needs i think you address that first, but if there's enough left, i'd like to see them at least drive the price up in case the cards re-sign him. And if we go the cheapish route on pitching, i think i'd be ok with that too (#trustbosio), just so long as we don't stand pat at the trade deadline.
Which brings up another point, you've got to think that again baez/castro are on the trading block. Hopefully castro did enough to recoup decent value.
