Benching Manning, who do I pick up?

After learning my lesson last year when I dropped Brady, I'm relegating Manning to bench in hopes he finally figures it out. Here's my waiver options
Kaepernick
Josh McCown
Alex Smith
Jameis Winston
Derek Carr
Or am i better off trying to trade for one?

Facing a similar situation with Manning - what if you add Tyrod Taylor and Blake Bortles to the possible waiver wire pickups?
I've been waiting for CJ Anderson and Peyton to figure it out and so far they've landed me in last place.

Carr has favorable match-ups four of the next five weeks.
Kaepernick has Seattle and STL coming up.
McCown will have some difficulty the next three games.
Smith has a couple favorable match-ups coming up, but his upside is limited.
I'd probably stay away from Winston.
Conclusion: go with Carr.

Pick up either Carr or McCown. Look at who has the more favorable schedule. No one is goona want to traded for him
