Lets see a pic of your Elite 9 installed. 
The weakness of my RAM ball setup is the 2 bolt ball. The small plate and 2 bolts can really put torque on the kayak plastic.

Ha, this thread made me go buy a cutting board and some mounting hardware this evening. I'm going to just modify the small mount to fit the 9s bracket.
