Another hard hitting report from LSU's best beat writer

It will be around 45-50k before it's all said and done. 50k at an average cost of $70 is better than 80k at an average cost of $30.
Hopefully I guess. I don't see it getting to 45k. :(

Gamecocks get the proceeds. They need the money.

North of $75 is high for a game on 2 days notice. That's why they've only sold less than 40k. If it was "cheap" and seen as a value they'd have sold 70k by now.

I'd bet against that tbh

@DellengerAdv: Wondering y #LSU's selling may be low: in just a few hours of reporting, stumbled upon 5-6 people attending weddings

To be fair, that tweets only terrible if those 5 or 6 people weren't purchasing 5,000 tickets a piece. No way of knowing.

People in BR/NOLA cram in an entire Fall of events into 4 away game and 1 bye weekends.
Weddings, Wedding Showers, Baby Showers, Beach Vacations, Europe Trips, etc.
Not to mention the youth sports teams do the same by hosting tournaments and stuff. This crowd was expected.
And reality is they cram it into the first few away games this year since November's games are of high interest.

All of Louisana scheduled weddings this week or our last two games were disappointing against poor competition? I think the latter is more likely.

I don't think LSU wants a huge crowd for this game. They will not have the people and supplies available to handle a huge crowd.

Real fans cancel plans, brah

I did cancel mine...
Except it was to fly to Columbia.

FWIW, from what I can see from the financial report from the 2012 season, game expenses are going to be around 85k.
No idea if the short notice dramatically inflates costs though.
ETA: and USCe needs around 50k to stay on target with their budget.

You can afford to travel to away games? Thanks a lot for ruining TS you self entitled a-hole.

This isn't a price issue at all. You know as well as I do how easy it is to get free tickets on almost any gameday. Yet the stadium still doesn't fill up. Now, there are no extra tickets to give away and 50% of the ticket holders have better things to do (too far away, made plans, etc) and another 25% would have given away their ticket for a game like this (SEC bottom feeder; midday)
So about 25% of season ticket holders actually bought some with a few even overbuying thinking they were smart enough to try and resell them for a profit. And now 70k seats are left open for the "general public". Are you trying to tell me that on a given weekend LSU has an extra 70k people who want to go see a game outside of the normal crowd? And that given 2 days notice they'd want to change plans to do it?
