Be careful. That's a tough addiction to overcome.

Are you stupid…..(probably). There are many things going on that are special. Sometimes these things can be overdone, but not this time. For those of us who have lived through hurricanes here in Louisiana, we have deep, sincere compassion for the folks in SC.

"Can we stop patting ourselves on the back for doing the right thing?"

Why? Why not recognize and appreciate that the school and the state and the people of Louisiana are handling this issue right? Isn't there enough bad news in the world?

I think it's admirable that LSU and the people of Baton Rouge are welcoming the team and fans of South Carolina with open arms. Why not relish in the goodness of?

Why do you want to squash a good thing?

I think the original post was meant to drive home the fact that LSU is getting to play a conference foe at home instead of on the road. That is an unfortunate advantage considering the situation but I won't complain about LSU getting to benefit from anything considering how much that is the other way around. As for USCe and the state of South Carolina, having been through several hurricanes and bad flooding before in Louisiana and Mississippi and just this year in Texas, I do feel bad for anybody who lost loved ones first and then all they worked hard for and my prayers go out to them all. There is certainly a lot of reasons to wanna help in anyway that we can and its not back patting its compassion for your fellowman. But make no mistake, as far as the game goes, LSU does get something out of this.

Great post. I had gotten tired of the posts attacking LSU fans for thoughtlessly being worried about losing money on plane tickets and hotel reservations in South Carolina. Many seemed to simultaneously exhibit concern for the affected South Carolinians, but you've sidestepped all of that, and involved the rant in a new level of your own misery. Heaven help us if we feel good about the LSU athletic department making a contribution to South Carolina's disaster relief fund.

Look at the topic, clown.

LSU is not doing a "favor" or "good deed" by this game being moved to BR. This is a gift.

What are you talking about? What things? Us painting thefield or playing their fight song, etc. is NOT us doing a lot in return for a HOME SEC game!

Dude, we would pay teams 3 million per to let us host our SEC games with them.

As far as compassion, yes we all lived it and have it for others who flood.
