That's my point. You can't do a love story or a fairy tale these days with a woman blindly falling in love with someone they don't know. The Prince/love interest in Snow White has to be radically updated, as the remakes after 1991 show. Now the Prince puts off a rapist vibe.
I never got a "rapist vibe" from the Prince in Snow White. And sure, it is a product of its time, but it is still a great movie. So you must feel the same way about Cinderella?

My point is what do we know about the Prince? Besides being interested in Snow White for her looks, absolutely nothing. He could very feasibly be as bad as or worse than Gaston. This also goes for Cinderella, and to an extent Sleeping Beauty and the Little Mermaid (at least the princes have to prove something in these films). We know a bit more about them in the later movies, but still not enough to justify them falling in love with their princesses in such a short period of time. Beauty and the Beast is smart though by keeping the timeline vague on how much time they actually spend together.
