So peaks and valleys aren't allowed in football?

we've been in a valley for almost the entire past 7 years

It's like they don't know Miles offensive strategy and all of the sudden he's turned into a spread, pass happy team.

who is asking for LSU to become a spread/pass happy team?

we're way on one end of the spectrum. you're acting like people want LSU to go to the other end, when people want us to move more to the middle and have a balanced offense. this straw man has so proliferated on the positiger side that it's just ridiculous

and also, this wasn't always the offense under miles. we were balanced for about half his career here (until he ran out of jimbo-coached and recruited QBs). we have won 1 title under miles and we passed a fricking shite ton that year and we actually used a bunch of spread passing and its principles during the year. so let's not act like this is against the inner fiber of miles and he's never done it before.

It's ALWAYS about the coach and NEVER about the players not executing what they're supposed to be executing.

if you go almost 7 years in a row with players making the same mistakes i'd imagine that becomes a reflection on the coaching

wouldn't you agree?

we are talking about literally 2-3 generations of recruiting classes who displayed the same issues. this isn't just a 2015 thing

quote:

Can't wait for next week to watch history when Fournette runs for over 300.

and if we concentrate on this and not working on passing, then you will all cheer the short term stimulus while the long-term thinkers will be worried about wasted opportunities to develop. just like 2011 when our offense grinded to a halt against quality defensive teams and unless we got magical defensive/special teams big plays, we did nothing.

So no NC = valley, unsuccessful, waste of a season.

...at this point, you don't need to be balanced. You have a once in a generation player on your side, give him the ball. Asking to "let's get practice reps in a game" is about as ridiculous as asking to go spread happy. I would put them in the same boat.

Harris has shown he can make throws. He threw the ball 16
Times yesterday. Why do people INSIST on throwing it more when your RB is an animal? 16 times isn't good enough? What's a good number? 25? So that's 9 more plays you don't give the ball to your best player.

They also took some reps in the red zone and didn't give the ball to Fournette. Game reps in the redzone. What happened? 3 points, not 7.

Let's practice some more and take the ball out of your best players hands. Hopefully, LSU can get up 21 points and start slinging the ball everywhere on the field, right? Because that's the identity of this team a month into the season.

The issue is depth on defense. In the end, I think that's where the issue lies and ultimately the Achilles heel.

Yeah, but keep on practicing those 7-8 passes a game.
