it's about the process and development, especially with rent a wins like syracuse
we'e played 3 games, none against good opponents. in 2 of those games we were sloppy as hell which is negatively hurting our offense directly
we still haven't shown any improvement on our passing game whatsoever, and i mean all 3 phases: OL, QB, and WRs
on a secondary analysis, we're far too reliant on big plays. if we're going to play les ball, we need to show more efficiency in our drive sustaining. most people focus on the passing game in this regard, but our rushing game also stalls out sometimes and if we're going to rely solely on one side of an offense, that can't happen
defensively our issues aren't things we can change. depth on the DL and n our LB corps is going to be a killer. mills' injury (which is almost over) disrupted our secondary. we have 1 guy who can pass rush consistently, and he's a true frosh who isn't physically ready yet for 15 game and he will hit a wall. we're REALLY relying on the front 7 early and my only gripe is that our coaches need to manage the minutes better if we want them effective for later in the year
and our special teams are horrible

Later on, bring it up on the board.....>crickets <
The usual suspects hate that their horrendous opinions about lsu have been wrong.
I'm still waiting for miles to destroy lsu like Coker did to Miami according to sloflowpro and Lester earl. Talk about being completely wrong about something

don't start multiple threads a week talking about how shitty the offense is. Nearly every post is you calling lsu the worst fanbase ever.
We get it, you're totally awesome and would never criticize the team. You're the bestest fan ever.
Its not about the bitching. Hell, I bitch and complain about other teams I follow all the time....
It's the enormous, BLATANT double standard that exists on this board. It's borderline psychotic.

So you see no positives in lsu's team at all?
Oh and I love how all the same people were predicting lsu to lose at least one game in September and now that lsu won, those teams are the worst teams ever and lsu is still not good. Jesus.

And are you really naive enough to not think that does not exist within a fringe group of every fan base?
If it bothers you that much you should find another way to spend your time because it's the way it's always been and will always be.
Just ingore the outliers and focus your time an energy on those that truly want to discuss the team, game, etc., whether it's praise OR constructive criticism.
Like above poster said, we are all pulling for the same team.

uh...where did i say that?
i'm explaining why our fans are restless. 3 games and we've seen the same shite in all of them (except the stupid penalties which are batting .667 this year). no improvement on offense with a history of les teams not creating a more advanced gameplan during the year has fans worried this is another year of the same stuff.

i didn't do that, fwiw, esp after week 1 when auburn showed they were a shitty team

So peaks and valleys aren't allowed in football? Complain all you want, but here, it's nothing but criticism. This site is nothing but a platform for people who hate Miles anymore and will never like him, regardless of what he does or wins. It's like they don't know Miles offensive strategy and all of the sudden he's turned into a spread, pass happy team. The Rant is that guy that's sits behind you in the stadium where LSU is up 28-0 in the 4th quarter and he's screaming for Miles to throw the ball and when he doesnt, he's screaming for Miles to be fired and he's an idiot.
The rant is "that guy."
There's never any respect/credit for the other team.
Nor there's never any credit for what LSU does correctly. There's never consideration for what the team did well. Fournette could be on the verge of the best 2 years in LSU history.
Yet, all we read is people discussing "disappointing wins" and "probable 3-4 losses." It's ALWAYS about the coach and NEVER about the players not executing what they're supposed to be executing. If the team executes like they were supposed to yesterday, the game is over by the middle of the 3rd. The ONLY coach I think that didn't put their unit in a position to succeed was Peveto.
The only consideration is to appease your complaints and whining.
Can't wait for next week to watch history when Fournette runs for over 300.

I just don't even want to read the replies to SFP, mine and others POV because they re usually full of name calling, profanity and Internet bullying. It's just gets lame at some point, it's like being back in high school again, where if you don't agree with the Kool Kids, you get shouted down.

Ran for over 350 yesterday. Shame an alignment penalty cost him a highlight run.

we've been in a valley for almost the entire past 7 years

who is asking for LSU to become a spread/pass happy team?
we're way on one end of the spectrum. you're acting like people want LSU to go to the other end, when people want us to move more to the middle and have a balanced offense. this straw man has so proliferated on the positiger side that it's just ridiculous
and also, this wasn't always the offense under miles. we were balanced for about half his career here (until he ran out of jimbo-coached and recruited QBs). we have won 1 title under miles and we passed a fricking shite ton that year and we actually used a bunch of spread passing and its principles during the year. so let's not act like this is against the inner fiber of miles and he's never done it before.

if you go almost 7 years in a row with players making the same mistakes i'd imagine that becomes a reflection on the coaching
wouldn't you agree?
we are talking about literally 2-3 generations of recruiting classes who displayed the same issues. this isn't just a 2015 thing
quote:

and if we concentrate on this and not working on passing, then you will all cheer the short term stimulus while the long-term thinkers will be worried about wasted opportunities to develop. just like 2011 when our offense grinded to a halt against quality defensive teams and unless we got magical defensive/special teams big plays, we did nothing.

Did you not hear coach miles?
You are always such a dumbass. Waste of time and space.

well his offense has done more lately at AU than we have at LSU (AU has 2 SEC titles and 1 natty while we have 1 SEC title and no noatties)
but, on a more serious note:
this is a complete straw man that almost nobody is arguing. asking for balance is not asking for a complete overhaul in our offense

So no NC = valley, unsuccessful, waste of a season.

d have a balanced offense. this straw man has so proliferated on the positiger side that it's just ridiculous
...at this point, you don't need to be balanced. You have a once in a generation player on your side, give him the ball. Asking to "let's get practice reps in a game" is about as ridiculous as asking to go spread happy. I would put them in the same boat.
Harris has shown he can make throws. He threw the ball 16
Times yesterday. Why do people INSIST on throwing it more when your RB is an animal? 16 times isn't good enough? What's a good number? 25? So that's 9 more plays you don't give the ball to your best player.
They also took some reps in the red zone and didn't give the ball to Fournette. Game reps in the redzone. What happened? 3 points, not 7.

Let's practice some more and take the ball out of your best players hands. Hopefully, LSU can get up 21 points and start slinging the ball everywhere on the field, right? Because that's the identity of this team a month into the season.
The issue is depth on defense. In the end, I think that's where the issue lies and ultimately the Achilles heel.
Yeah, but keep on practicing those 7-8 passes a game.

I don't understand BeeFense. I guess he thinks only Les can criticize the team.

Slow : no improvement in passing game? WTF? We're 1000% better than last year and improved each week this year. You've got to be a CLM hater to make this comment.

we were specifically talking about the passing game. why are you bringing up 2011?
quote:

so you think we can go undefeated, through Alabama and Ole Miss, by basically just running LF7? seriously?
when has that EVER happened in CFB since SEC expansion to 12 teams?
quote:
Why do people INSIST on throwing it more when your RB is an animal?
because rushing is easier to stop than passing and eventually our rushing offense will be stopped in a game
if we don't have a developed passing game and the mindset to throw ready to supplement the offense, we will have 1/9/12 all over again

Let's practice some more and take the ball out of your best players hands.
why do we need to feed our best players against shitty teams like Syracuse and Eastern Michigan? those are games to work on areas you are weak in, because the margin of error is so wide that you can "waste plays". that's why we play those games, so that we are prepared for when we have to play a game firing on all cylinders.
williams or guice can rush for 200+ next saturday if we feed them teh rock. what does showing that we can run the ball against one of the worst rush Ds in CFB do? nothing. we KNOW we can run all over them and we can win without passing the ball once. does that help our team prepare for bama or ole miss? no. it hurts our development for those games when we will have to pass to win

also a valid point for fans to complain about things that have gone unfixed for half a decade or more and appear to be a reflection of one person who's been in charge all that time and who appears to either be unable or unwilling to change his methods in order to get a better result, which is the mark of a great leader.
You know what else has gone on at LSU for that period you reference??? WINNING and winning at a rate never seen before at LSU and at a rate that makes LSU #2 nationally in power 5 schools.
What more important "result" is there in sports???
quote:
his history is littered with games like
Yeah...OOC regular season WINS away from TS vs. Power 5 programs.
Miles is not perfect, but he's damn good as showed by our winning and winning at a time when the SEC has owned college football.
Each to our own, but bitching continually bout Miles is like bitching bout your g/f cause she only came in 5th in the Miss USA contest. imo
